Evening Star

The Evening Star was introduced by Hornby Minitrix in 1979, appearing as a new item in the January catalogue and price list of that year.  In my opinion this is the smartest and most adaptable of the Minitrix steam locos, suiting the N gauge points and sharp bends much better than any of my 4-6-2 models, and much more realistically geared.  The Evening Star continued to be available long after Hornby stopped marketing N guage, and it still attracts a high price in e-bay auctions.  Later versions have the slightly darker green livery.
